The snow didn't stop so many of you from making it out and making it such a special evening! If you would have asked me a year ago if I would be speaking in front of people and sharing with them my story of survival and other personal information, I would have said to you; No Way! Playing and singing is one thing…there is no problem there, but standing with no guitar to hide behind, just my words exposed, is a whole other ballgame.
In the last few months though, I felt the need to start getting out there and facing what I knew was my fear. I needed to start spreading the word about my upcoming concert and charity event, telling people about my story of survival and trying to inspire while doing it.
A very wise person told me this past summer that this was what I was meant to be doing, along with my music. I also read something from Mastin Kipp of The Daily Love. The title was “What to do when you feel you are not ready".... He says he starts before he is ready.. he calls it the "Ready, fire, aim" strategy. He continues to say “You may not be ready to perform brain surgery, but you are ready to start your journey into learning about that practice now.”
There is also, what I call the Trust Fall strategy. You know that game you played in elementary school when you had to climb something and fall backwards and trust that your piers or something would be there to catch you. This is the same thing. Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there and do it, trust that life will support you…in some situations it’s about "progress over perfection." Be prepared and do your best.
That’s what I've been doing. Putting myself out there, speaking in front of public officials at town meetings, talking with kids at children’s hospital, doing press and radio interviews. And sure I make mistakes, I mess up words and forget things but you know what? It’s OK because I’m being me, I am moving in a forward direction, making progress and spreading my music and story.
As I continue on this path, I spoke at a meeting in front of the Mayor of Port Chester NY and the board of trustees last night. I gave my speech and felt good about it and when I was finished sharing, The Mayor surprised me with a proclamation. What a special moment it was..
On March 7th the Village of Port Chester NY proclaims it will be…

WOW, how honored I am to receive this kind of acknowledgement. It goes to show you, get out there and do the things that are calling you, face those fears, trust and everything will start falling into place!

6/6/12 FREE CONCERT! This Saturday June 9th, I will be opening up for Dave Mason (Unplugged) who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Mason has played and recorded with many of the era's most notable rock musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Delaney Bramlett, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac and Cass Elliot. 6/5/12 What a great trip to Chicago..The show at the Elbo Room went well, had so much fun! Then got invited to perform some songs at a party for ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and met so many people who are doing so many great things in this field. Scientist, Researchers & Noble Prize Winners...look forward to doing some other great things with them! Then yesterday we had an impromptu neighborhood concert in a beautiful backyard on a lake. Played my music all weekend, sold so many cd's and hopefully touched some hearts! __________________________________________

The Grooveline Horns are playing on the track "Feel Some More" on the upcoming album. The Grooveline Horns are one of the top horn groups in the country. They tour the world writing, recording, arranging, producing and performing with artist like Jason Mraz, Rob Thomas, Kelly Clarkson and many more.

12/9/10 In December Charlie signed a management contract with InFocus Artist Management. He's currently back in the studio recording at BiCoastal Music with a Grammy nominated sound engineer and producers who have worked with everyone from Rob Thomas to James Taylor. ! _______________________________________
